Combined treatments are more commonly preferred today in the treatment of acne scars. One of the most commonly used surgical treatments is subcision. The aim of all surgical interventions is to reduce the visibility and depth of acne scars, to smooth the skin’s surface and to improve the appearance of the scars. In the treatment of acne scars by means of subcision procedure, fibrous bands under the dermis are opened in the skin using special needles. Afterwards, the scar tissue is removed by applying various drugs and mesotherapy to the areas where there are scar tissues. Subcision also increases the amount of collagen in the skin after the application, and increases the amount of supporting tissue. It is very effective in acne scars, especially in atrophic rolling acne scars. After the application, redness, bruising and edema may last for 1-2 weeks.
